Finding worthwhile players in the lengthy NFL Draft is anything but easy. For the Oakland Raiders, they are hoping the 2019 NFL Draft has been fortunate to them.

The Raiders selected nine players in this past draft, including three first-round picks in Clelin Ferrell, Josh Jacobs and Johnathan Abram.

Now that the draft has come and gone though, the focus is already being shifted to next year’s crop of talent.

To ensure some luck in the drafts to come, the Raiders have signed former New England Patriots scout DuJuan Daniels.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Raiders have hired former New England Patriots scout Dujuan Daniels to take on a senior executive role:

Daniels started with the Patriots in 2006 as an assistant scout. Since then he has moved upward to the position of national scout.

While Daniels official position has yet to be determined, it would be safe to say that he will be involved in the scouting department as a member of the front office. The Raiders have made a number of moves the last year to begin the rebuilding process. Although things seem to be moving quickly in a positive direction, the team still has a number of extra picks in upcoming drafts

Daniels was former Indiana Mr. Football and spent his college years at Boston College. He will join another Boston College alumnus in Raiders general manager Mike Mayock.

Mayock took over at general manager at the very end of 2018. Since then he has continued to make big changes, bringing in former Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown, among many others.

This move certainly indicates a move to establish a championship atmosphere within the Raiders organization. Daniels has been a part of three championship teams with the Patriots. The Raiders also brought in three players from the two-time college football champion Clemson Tigers with their nine picks in the 2019 NFL Draft.

As for the Patriots, they are looking to move forward and are relying on a reportedly deep talent pool for player development. Daniels was still with the Patriots during the draft where they ended up with 10 total picks.
