The Oakland Raiders have undergone many changes this offseason to their coaching staff with new head coach Jon Gruden. In his return, he has made a notable impact on the franchise with how things have been run in the offseason.

This has seen many players laud the environment and coaching style that Gruden has brought to the table in the first few months. According to Michael Gehlkin of Las Vegas Review-Journal, Jared Cook has voiced that players are beginning to buy into his game plan this offseason ahead of the 2018 NFL season.

“I think he definitely has guys buying in,” Cook said. “I mean, I bought in for sure because he knows what he’s talking about, and you can tell a difference in a coach that knows what he’s talking about and a coach that does not. He knows what he’s talking about.”

The fact that the team has already begun to feed into what Gruden is preaching is a promising sign that could equate to there being a smooth transition process to his system being implemented. This may allow for him to connect better with his players in them following through with his game plan on both sides of the ball.

This especially applies to the offense as he is expected to be the play-caller that will filter all that through Derek Carr to the rest of the team. Carr has already spoken glowingly about his new head coach while voicing that he is ready to take on his brash coaching style this upcoming season.

Only time will tell if this will translate to success on the field come the new season, but it is certainly an encouraging sign of what may lie ahead.
