The Oakland Raiders announced that they have signed former Fresno State wide receiver Brian Burt as an undrafted free agent. The move comes just a day after they released wide receiver Jalin Marshall, so Burt will take his spot on the roster for the time being.

Burt did not play all that much at Fresno State, appearing in seven games over the last two seasons, with six of them coming in 2018. He only had 24 total receiving yards, but also did some return work as well for the Bulldogs.

Prior to playing at Fresno State, Burt played one season at Ventura College in 2016. He appeared in 11 games and had 87 rushes for 563 yards and four touchdowns while adding 14 receptions for 212 yards and an additional two touchdowns.

The Raiders wide receiver room has undergone a complete overhaul this offseason. While it is unlikely that Burt makes the roster considering it will already have Antonio Brown, Tyrell Williams, Ryan Grant, J.J. Nelson and Hunter Renfrow, whatever experience and knowledge he can gain from learning from them will be valuable for him.

If Burt impresses during offseason workouts and training camp, then it is possible he earns a spot on the Raiders practice squad for the upcoming season.
