Raiders Video: Antonio Brown Takes Subtle Shot At NFL Schedule-Makers

Although the Oakland Raiders are looking to enjoy a potential resurgence in the 2019 NFL season, wide receiver Antonio Brown made it clear that the schedule-makers did not make it any easier for them to do so.

The NFL released its official schedule for the upcoming season on Wednesday evening. They certainly did not spare the Raiders any trouble when it comes to favorable matchups.

Oakland is set to embark on a grueling road trip to start the season before finishing up with some crucial divisional matchups down the stretch. Brown was not shy about expressing his displeasure with how the schedule was made.

He and teammate Trent Brown helped make the announcement, via the team’s official Twitter:

It is easy to see where both Brown’s frustration stems from. The Raiders open up the season with two home games against AFC West opponents before hitting the road for five straight games.

Oakland has a home game against the Chicago Bears sandwiched between two pairs of road games, however, it is set to take place in London which means they will spend an extra week traveling. Brown could not help but take a subtle shot at the league when his teammate informed him of the news.

“We’re extremely excited about the year,” Brown said. “The schedule is a little crazy. We don’t control the schedule, we just control what we do on the schedule.”

The Raiders made headlines with their star-studded acquisitions this offseason. They are hoping to keep that momentum going with their bevy of quality picks in the 2019 NFL Draft.

It is no secret that the AFC West is looking like one of the more competitive divisions in the league this year. The Raiders will have their work cut out trying to get back into playoff contention.
