It has been a rough couple of weeks for the Oakland Raiders as they have now dropped their last three games with their most recent loss against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6. EJ Manuel filled in for the injured Derek Carr and while he performed admirably, it was not enough to overcome a formidable Baltimore secondary.
The losses have seemed to raise tensions and tempers in the locker room as Donald Penn was later caught on film arguing with a fan in the parking lot following the game. The heckler had shouted several expletives which prompted the tackle to engage him in a verbal dispute.
Following the incident, Penn took to Twitter to show that the whole situation may have been set up:
Penn, who recently signed a two-year, $21 million extension, appears to have found convincing proof that the fan was only engaging with him in order to extort the athlete for money. This only goes to show what some people are willing to do for money and it is unfortunate to see.
Despite the situation, Penn and the silver and black have bigger worries as they are quickly falling out of the playoff picture. The Raiders will get a chance to right the ship when they play the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6.
